When is the GHC Bookstore open?

Regular bookstore hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30am-12:00pm on Friday (closed Saturday-Sunday). We have extended hours during peak periods, and limited hours between quarters and during the summer.

When will books be available for the next quarter?

Course materials are generally available 4 weeks before the start of classes. There will be occasional exceptions based upon when a book is published or when a faculty member provides us with book information.

When can I sell back my book?

The bookstore holds a textbook buyback during finals week of each quarter.

Can I rent textbooks online?

Yes! If your textbook is available as a rental, a price for "new rental" or "used rental" will appear on the selection screen. Add the desired item to your cart. You must agree to the rental terms before you can complete your transaction.

When do rental books have to be returned, and what are the penalty fees?

Rental titles must be returned by the Friday after the exam period to avoid penalty fees. Specific dates will be shown on your rental contract. Books not returned on time will be charged to your card at the fees you agreed to on your contract.

Why do you charge replacement fees and penalties if I do not return my rental book by the due date?

We need to have the book back from you so that we have enough copies for next quarter. If you do not return it to us, we need to purchase another copy and pay for overnight shipping to get it on time. This is expensive, and we use the replacement fees and penalties to cover these costs.

Why can't I add the book to my cart? (Price not displayed or grayed out)

If prices do not display or are grayed out, the book has not arrived from the publisher. Inventory is updated daily, so please check the website again later.

Why can't I find the ISBN on Amazon?

Your instructor may have chosen a special customized textbook that is not available from other retailers.

Can I have the books shipped to me?

Yes - choose "FedEx Ground" during the checkout process. Shipping is $16.95 for the first item, and $0.95 for each additional item in the order.

How will I know my order has been shipped?

You will receive an email from the GHC Bookstore when we have processed your order.

Why am I being charged more than the total on my order confirmation?

The total charged to your credit card may be adjusted based on inventory quantities of new or used books at the time your order is processed.

My class is at the Riverview Education Center/Columbia Education Center/WAOL. Can I buy the book from the GHC Bookstore?

Yes. Make sure that you choose the correct section number for your class. This varies based on a variety of factors, but is usually 12, 13, 17, A2/A3 or similar. Section numbers can be found on your student schedule.

How much will I get when I sell back my book?

The highest prices (up to 50% of what you paid for the book) are paid for books that are in short supply. If the book is not used for the upcoming quarter, we have too many of them, or there is a large supply of very inexpensive books online, we will pay less. In this case, we will offer from 0-20% of the book price.
